Random old footage

Trey interview and some stuff on stage. Kind of weird seeing the over under technique being used.

I like that Trey goes in and out of speaking in broken English to the interviewer :redneck:

"Do not do what other people tell you, do what you think is right."

Can't be a better truth than that. Yet, the entire world has gone batshit crazy and believes the dumbest things as true, to the world's demise.

Not really deserving of its own topic, but if you look in the comment section here you will find Mike Browning arguing back and forth with Terri Samuels about some extremely early details of who was/wasn't in the band, who was dating/sleeping with... Maximum :redneck:::::::

Semi-interesting is another proto-MA name was Death Watch. Trey deffo mention Heretic and ICE in interviews and stuff, but can't remember Death Watch being mentioned.

Yeah, never heard of Death Watch either.
Heretic and ICE we all know.

I'm just always glad they settled for Morbid Angel :redneck:

it's funny to me how trey mentions he hates metallica but a few years later, i think around domination, he was hoping to tour with them

he also mentions that ripping corpse is one of his favorite bands, he probably had erik rutan in mind for awhile :interessant:

i wonder how morbid angel touring with metallica might have changed their career or what it would have done for death metal in general. it could have sent ma down a bad road of trying to ride that success, dumbing down music, etc. kind of what gojira did.

MA did go on tour with Black Sabbath and Motorhead at one point. Not that it would have corrupted the band's direction, but that's an odd combination of styles.

that and the pantera tour are probably the closest they ever got to mainstream audiences, along with domination album

i wonder if we still would have got formulas if they had got closer to the mainstream. the attitude behind formulas is almost like trey saying fuck all that nonsense and just doing what he wanted to do instead of chasing any kind of fame, etc :xx:

That's a fact. All his frustration about domination and david going the direction he went, was put into F.

such a lucky turn of events, didn't david want the music to be slower around when covenant came out? to appease the goths or something?

the swamp album was truly a blessing
