For a position in the IT department on campus. I really hope I can land this gig because fuck Walmart. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do the work but I don't have any experience with Macs.
Position Summary:
The university is accepting applications for ResNet Computer Support Analysts on a regular basis. When an opening is available, your application will be considered in the candidate pool. This position provides computing support to EKU students (95%) and some faculty/staff (5%). This position is responsible for first- level problem determination, problem/incident recording, problem resolution, and problem escalation for ResNet support products and services. These products and services include the residential network, student-owned PC and Macintosh, ResNet-specific software, student e-mail accounts, registration of game consoles, STL cluster in Combs 230, and lobby computer clusters in the residence halls. Direct support for 3,200+ students connected to ResNet.
Strong customer service skills and willingness to learn new things. Knowledge of and familiarity with both PC and Mac environments, PC and Macintosh hardware/software knowledge, and basic networking skills in a TCP/IP environment, helpful.

tier1 tech support positions are pretty much all flowchart/KB-based type things, if you can demonstrate proficiency in that domain it should be enough to get you in. any knowledge/skills you have in addition to what the KB provides is just a bonus as far as employers are concerned, they're more worried about your being able to actually use the resources they provide for walking customers through technical issues.
in summary, your prospects are probably quite good

i should clarify: in the most reductive sense, what that means is, what the interviewer wants to know is this;
"are you retarded? if you are not retarded, can you use a web browser?"

I almost started laughing when they asked me the first question. "What is your favorite article of clothing and why?" what the fuck?

They asked me a bunch of random questions like that. They didn't ask a single computer related question the whole time. I think I did really well though.

I worked there for two and half semesters and quit
after the first semester the boss hooked me up with a summer internship at her friends company. the internship turned into my second job that next fall semester. the stress of having two jobs during school was hard. that next spring i quit the school job to work at the other place.
I've been there for 9 years now

it sickened me such that i banished the thought very shortly after it came to me
but i had to make appeals to my generous hosts who were putting my useless ass up on couches and expected some level of hustle

I applied for walmart and target on the same day when I was 16. Target called back first so I also never got sucked up into the walmart machine.

It was actually the walmart that we used to steal from on the regular when we were kids
The neighborhood I grew up in backed up to a shopping center. So we were always causing some kind of ruckus back there
