My first political event in the US

Ok so yesterday I attended a political event in the US. I heard a Democrat party member speak. Boy was it an atrocious speech! She was insisting the audience repeat after her "You know!" every time she made a key assertion. It's like they expect their audience to be dumb as sheep. The event was actually for the Walmart workers movement. An Occupy activist also came on stage to speak. He was just as bad too. I'm kind of sick of hearing the 99% - 1% talk. It's been reduced to a cliche. After that there was a rally. I got a free t-shirt and mineral water.
