I don't think I've used MP3s in years, I only listen to songs on Youtube when I'm on my PC or Laptop. Because of that I rarely get new recommendations because Youtube isn't good at that.

Slightly different story on mobile devices where it makes more sense to have mp3s when you're out and about or connected to the vehicle's bluetooth. But even so I recently wiped my mp3 collection on my phone because I was so bored with the same old list.

i still have a massive amount of stuff in MP3/AAC that i ripped or downloaded years ago that i don't have lossless equivalents for. everything i buy now is either lossless, CD (which i then convert to lossless) or vinyl

I still use iTunes and mp3s regularly for music in my phone, iPad and the car (mp3s in a USB stick). For my PC, I still use Winamp.

I still can't justify the use of Spotify and the like as I have 144 GB worth of mp3s. It's just more convenient for me overall.

I don't care/never cared for music recommendations in those music streaming services since I don't really care for new music nowadays. I also don't feel it's my 'responsibility' to be updated in new music, even if it's from genres that I regularly enjoy. If I'm in the mood for new music (which is a rarity), I just manually search in YouTube or Google or whatever and see what comes up.

i use spotify the most, but i use my mp3s when i want to be on airplane mode, which makes my laptop's battery last way longer. or when i am driving in remote areas with no signal, i use mp3s on my phone instead

Spotify and youtube on my phone, and kindle, Cds/spotify in my ride. I dont even own a laptop or pc anymore

I've got a few hundred GB of MP3 and flac but only use Spotify at this point

I'm buying a lot more cd's since I moved the pc out of the living room

i still have my old library of files but i rarely use it

I still have like 400ish gigs of MP3 and FLAC files both on my PC and my cellphone

I think streaming services are what I use mostly. When I'm home, usually LP or CD for listening.

Would one of you be able to make your sizeable mp3 collection available? I'm getting a new phone and would like to add new music to it.

i aint got that facility and i expect my musical taste slightly differs from yours ?

it's literally $10/mo for spotify now, i don't see much reason to pirate these days

What kind of music is available on Spotify? Can I get pretty much any music I want, including death metal?

yes, download the free version to check it out, there are adverts every so many songs, can't skip too many songs in a row etc but it should give you a taste

OK, on the recommendation of this group, I have signed up for Spotify. Seems good so far. Definitely better than that piece of shit Netflix subscription I have.

spotify is the bomb

desktop and mobile app work really well. i love being able to pause a song on my phone and resume it on the desktop in the same spot. also love all the podcasts and what not

I use Tidal as well for streaming.

when i first got spotify i added a few people but ever since then i have had trouble adding people. i like the friends view function but it doesn't seem to work properly

I have 3 mp3 on my laptop now. It's raw mix of Kingdoms Disdained, Zamilska's last single and my friends demo. I use Spotify, Bandcamp, youtube, vinyls and CDs.
