I don't recall hating Waterworld but I remember it being too campy and ridiculous that I'd probably loathe it if I watched it again today.

As much as I appreciate and enjoy the first Exorcist (and it is a great movie) the third one is so fucking metal in comparison. Brad Dourif's performance is worth the price of admission alone. If the first movie is Altars, than the third is Covenant.
