i have the htc vive and have played a few of the popular games. i wouldn't personally bother with vr unless it was with the vive or the index.
it's expensive and you need a decent open area to enjoy it but otherwise it's a lot of fun. half life alyx was a pretty amazing experience. the games tend to be on the expensive side and kind of short so it's kind of a toss up.
i get car sick and what not so i expected motion sickness but it only happened in certain games. some games have different movement controls which can affect it. half life alyx had an option for a kind of teleport movement which worked fine for me. but it also had an option for holding a button and moving forward like walking, that made me feel sick, i actually felt like i was going to fall over.

Do you normally get motion sickness? Sounds like that might have been what happened.
nah not really. used to when i was a kid but it's been a very very long time. i'm willing to chalk it up to a miscalibration issue since it wasn't my set and psvr is probably the worst way to experience it, so if i'm being honest i wouldn't write the whole medium off based on that experience.
i think that in a vacuum it is a very neat idea with a tremendous amount of potential to expand what is possible with games, but the unfortunate reality is it only exists commercially because of its potential for hyperinvasive data collection. and it has come about in an era of hyperconcentrated corporate control over the medium, and those companies have all turned into ruthless casino operators. a perfect confluence of all the worst things, conspiring to completely shut you out from the world entirely. no thank you

I tried it and it really strained me eyes and the resolution was awful.
