their other movies are all variable quality but for sure they never matched the power of the first matrix film, next level stuff and a cultural lodestone

Even the views that are easily attainable in a natural way are CGI. Negative review here, I didn't read all of it but judging from the first paragraphs we won't like the plot either

i am excited for one thing about this movie and that is the number of people who will complain about the matrix getting woke & how snowflaked it is now &c &c without realizing that that was the original trilogy the whole time

yeah it is a nostalgic self-referential amusing movie, it is nothing like the original three

I fucking loved this film. Yes, the choreography is subpar (blapshemous for some since it's a Matrix film), but the meta-commentary on the state of Hollywood, while also furthering the lore of the series, was spot-on and watching the real world with upgraded tech was really something. I need to see it again to make out a number of things, but this is easily in my top 10 of the year.

There's a channel called Matrix Explained. They've been doing some good videos on this and talking about a lot of what went down. Give it a look sometime.
I saw it a second time, and liked it even more. Yeah, it's not aggressively choreographed, storyboard-ed and framed like the original, or the sequels, but it completely works as a meta-commentary on the state of Hollywood and their fascination with reboots/remakes/sequels, while also acting as a deconstruction and a continuation of the franchise itself. Don't get such things anymore, really.
