what's it like to write a whole ass book? i could probably do two chapters before i ran out of steam, maybe

did you run into any road blocks that made you want to give up?

nah it wasn't a creatively arduous book like that, it's a picture table book, so actually writing it was short and easy. but the research it was based on took me seven weeks straight of fieldwork on the road and fixing the layout in indesign and copyediting and everything took a few weeks so .... the writing was short and easy but the whole process has taken ages. the preparations getting the permissions and the project funded off the ground took many many meetings etc. etc. and now all the people who gave me research permissions for the book are in jail
