I use a wedge that perforates it, and sometimes just slice it with a knife.

Cut it to expose the cloves and then use the flat surface side of the knife to crush it.

I crush the clove a bit with the side of a knife and then use the finest side of a box grater to shred it I know raw garlic makes my breath smell terrible, but I love the kick it gives to salads and sandwiches

i use garlic basically every day and i prepare it differently based on what i am doing, sometimes whole cloves, sometimes diced, sometimes pounded, sometimes blended

I don't know why but I've always hated using a garlic press. my wife swears by it but it always seems like it's more work to than it ought to be. chop all the way.
