the check in of May

Work is still shit and nothing has changed. There is so much behind the scenes shit not getting done that its going to start hitting commission paychecks if it hasn't yet. The only real solution to any of this is getting my department manager out of there. Everyone knows it's shit but I don't think anyone knows the extent of how bad it actually is besides me and maybe 1 or 2 other people. I'm laying the ground work to bring all this to the attention of our management company. Hoping I can get this shit ball rolling down the shit hill before the end of the month.

On the other side of it I got an offer making close 6 figures at a dealer in Ohio. The wife wants no part of making that move, so no idea what my next move is going to be. Also got the heads up on a dealer in Eugene, Oregon that is turning over their parts department. If she wanted no part of a move a few hours away to Ohio, there ain't no way she would go for moving to the opposite coast.

How is there in this period? :santa:

Aside from getting my car side swiped causing $1,600 worth damage and the perpetrator ignoring me, getting fingers crushed and bruised, and one of my favorite musicians passsing away, May couldn’t get worse. Or could it?!?

To be fair, I wouldn’t move to ohio either. Oregon on the other hand. :santa:

Columbus like most cities is seeing crime spikes. Many are repocatibg to ohio and other Midwest states to try to escape said crime.

I'm having a good chess season, close to the 1700+ points mark and that would make me happy  Looking for work closer to home but I've got to take my time. Something like what I'm doing now or maybe I should take a year to learn how to code. It's still a little boring to me but I am a little more patient now and what else to do.
Going to the gym today. I think I could do that this summer, one or two gym visits in weekends and a bit of lifting at home. I have some good months to come, enjoy the Groaningagian nightlife and do some travelling

I almost moved to Columbus a few years ago (it was a toss up between Columbus and Cincinnati depending on the Wife and her employment - those opportunities didn't pan out however) - at the time one thing that was appealing about Columbus was that it has a lot going for it in so far as culture is concerned (is in, lots to do) and housing was affordable at that point (for example to where I live now a $350K house in Minneapolis would cost like $200-250K in Cbus).

Cost of living was a huge factor. 100k there would go a hell of a lot farther out there compared to maryland.

I really am. I wanna shake up my whole life not slap a coat of paint on a wall and call that life changing.

everything in my life is fine right now which i am grateful for. though if i'm gonna be real i think i might have some background depression going on. i don't have much drive or desire to do anything these days but i've been working on making positive changes. i've been keeping my house clean which is a big deal and i've been starting to exercise a little. the weather is finally nice so i'm trying to get out a lot more, i think two years of a heavy sedentary lifestyle has taken its toll and i need to really push myself to get out of the house and do things.

but everything is actually pretty alright, rearranged and bought some furniture recently, small kitchen upgrades, rewired guitar yesterday. trying to stay busy

Sounds exciting. The staying busy part and trying new outdoor things not the depression :redneck:

Hey Nick. Expand your job horizon man. This thing is going to be the end of you, I'm afraid.

I'm waiting for my holiday allowance and salary this month. Getting some budget to further renovate the house.

Not everyone has a choice to switch paths for multiple reasons

With Nick’s skill set I would think he could find a much healthier environment to work in though
