do not be anxious

anxiety and depression are to blame for the recent statistic that 1 in every 2 australians have suffered mental illness

no wait you're not in australia

also more seriously, the biggest news in my life is that i have gotten fat, the heaviest i have ever been in my life, trying to combat it but also drinking beers every single day, when will this end, and how will it end

Been feeling like shit lately mentally and emotionally. Stress with bills and money with no raises on the horizon according to my office even though June was my department’s best month in the 2 1/2 years I’ve been here. My annual raise was supposed to be in March. The woman hasn’t gotten a raise after her probationary period was up in February. Her year anniversary is November. We will both be looking for new jobs soon if we don’t get word about raises. Our lease just renewed and they are jacking our rent up another $125/month starting September 1st :hate:

Home life has been stressful since the wife hurt her leg a few weeks ago, had to pick up a lot more of the house work and such whereas before we did about 50/50. Work was going well until about 2 weeks ago - hired a new person at the same wage as some other established persons and then fought with leadership about getting the established persons a "market adjustment" in addition to their annual raise to help offset it. finally got approval only for one of them to put in the 2 week notice on Monday so now I have to hire another person while training a newbie and being short staffed. oddly enough, the person that put in their notice said it wasn't so much the money but the hours - they often worked nights but wanted a more typical 9-5 type job...what's funny is they are the antithesis of a morning person whenever I had them work earlier shifts, even when I had them on more regular morning or midday shifts.

I am well into my plan to get things back on track at work. Cleared out a ton of warranty returns that were being asked for by the motherland. Returned over $25k in cores we had taking up valuable square footage. Got my eyes set on moving some shit around to maximize the space we do have. A very large part of that is clearing out the $100k in inventory with no sales history for the last 9 months.

My stock clerk is teetering on the fuck around and find out line. He's on a very very short leash, so much so that tomorrow very well could be his last day. Besides him I've got very little staff issues. Everyone knows my gameplan and is on board to help get it done. At the end of the day it just means more dollars in their pockets if things are running smoothly.

Normal life stuff is thankfully kinda boring given how chaotic work can be some days.

I'll hire you jorsh.

Hours at a minimum are 0500-1500 Monday through friday. $20 an hour and moving expenses are on you. All the manual labor you didn't know you never wanted.

Hard fuck no. Parts are delivered overnight, need to be in at 5 to bring the order in and begin processing it. Wholesale rolls at 630 to start getting the orders ready to go out at 830.

I'd much rather spend that money on switching our dms. Power has got its upside but overall it's pretty not great. Running something like cdk or era/ignite would honestly my choice.

i don't have much money to my name, and i'm shopping for engagement rings tonight

i am getting a US$10,000 injection in a week's time, but that is for the book research, so hotels, expenses, etc. etc. i probably won't have much left of it for myself

it was super shitty for like 4-5 days during the acute phase, but it felt tolerable with the knowledge that it would be short-lived and i'd be out of the woods in a week or two. had i known i'd have it permanently, it probably would've changed my assessment in the moment

When did you get it? Much earlier I think?

That sucks man.

This current subvariant isn't that bad, fortunately.

i will leave that to dusty. i think he could do it quite well, in an ironic, cash grab kind of way, but then may actually unintentionally end up helping a lot of people feel better about their lives, while he scowls ... and counts his money

During the period this topic was made a very close fellating lover relapsed with mental illness. He let friends/family know that he was moving from his mother's house but wouldn't provide any information. None of it added up: no address, no one could visit, no car, no furniture, no income, no plans to remove his belongings from my place, etc. I assumed he was moving back to a group home to get stuff sorted out. He's had a tough year (dead father, found his close fellating lover he was a caretaker for dead, all the pandemic stuff, etc.).

Turns out his plan is to be homeless on the outskirts of Minneapolis. He's been doing that for a few weeks now, even though it's unsafe and totally unnecessary in his case: aside from friends/family happy to provide a stable living situation he recently inherited about $150,000 but won't spend it on anything. Not even food. He doesn't think he deserves it and actually tried to refuse the money. I guess he was talked out of that. Without that money he's broke.

For now he's going to try getting by as a street musician, which is kind of cool, but I wish it wasn't under these circumstances. Hopefully it all works out, but it's tough to see someone you care about in rough shape. He comes by almost every day smelling terrible and clearly physically destroyed from sleeping outside and having to walk everywhere with his guitar and backpack full of stuff. He won't even accept an offer to use my shower. It's all very sad and confusing. Hopefully he gets help.
