I shall wait until the coldest, darkest days of winter (sometime in feb.), so I can take a week or so off just staying in, staying warm, binge watch shows, gloryhole era , and shitty food. I'm already excited thinking about it

I believe I still have 9 days or so left for PTO but I'll just use on the week of the 26th. I'll still be reporting to work till then but I'll be working remotely and I'll just have Outlook up and running throughout the entire day.

Do you still primarily work from home?

Yup, and the more hours you work the more you get allocated so it grows exponentially. Right now I have about 9 weeks worth banked despite using 3 weeks worth this past year.

we can roll up to 2 weeks, anything in excess of that cashes out on the first payroll cycle of the new year. i'm actually fairly low going into the new year with only week or so left in the bank
7 day vacation starts today, still hotter than the depths of hell

i have like four weeks and more accruing through the year still and no real reason to use any of it. my company fucking sucks now and killed off the sellback policy because they felt we were making too much money because of it
It's use it or lose it for me, and it sucks because it limits what I can do with the holidaying and also encourages herd behavior in the company where everybody takes off the same time of the year, which is disruptive to business operations.

Sound like that's the business' problem for having shit rules.

I suppose unlimited carrying over presents its own problems too because if someone takes off for 3 months then someone who has to take over gets fucked

Or you just don't do the extra work because fuck that noise.

in my experience whenever someone has done that they turn in their resignation when they get back
only time that usually doesn't happen is when someone takes maternity / paternity leave, they pretty much always come back.

yeah it's extraordinarily rare for people to ditch after parental leave at my job, my company has a clawback policy where you forfeit all the leave pay if you don't return, and i would assume that's probably standard practice

Ive also never known an employer to approve anything over 2 weeks short of something like maternity or other medical goings ons.

Some companies give you 6 months for that. Before the current job, I worked at American Express which I absolutely hated because it was micromanagement hell and low pay, but they gave 6 months maternity AND paternity leave.
