Minnesota is pretty centrist too, even though the state leans left. Seems like a lot of people here that share conservative views look at the modern republican party and respond with a collective “no thanks”. Our neighbors in Wisconsin being hijacked by the tea party and the resulting chaos since has deepened that disgust. At least that’s the vibe I get from people.
