2020 mitsubishi xpander
looked at toyota veloz, sienna, avanza, honda BRV, this was the pick

That particular Mitsubishi is literally everywhere here.
Meanwhile, the Hyundai Accent that I bought brand new last October 2019 is now giving me secondary clutch problems (yes it's a stick shift) and it's only got less than 10k kms.

The rare time the engine doesn't fail! You're lucky to get 100k out of a Hyundai engine.

It's an APV. Most of the popular car brands in this region have a corresponding model in their lineups. They're quite popular here in Southeast Asia which is also where they are manufactured as most of the Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Hondas, Nissans, Mazdas, Suzukis, etc. you see on the roads here are usually made in Thailand or Indonesia.
Heck, if you buy a brand-new Mercedes E-class here from the official dealerships, it's a good chance that it was assembled in either China or Vietnam.
