I've had clips of these show up on my youtube feed, and they are funny as shit. Was this a big deal back in the day?

Yes, it was. Some of the best sketch comedy. It's also where Jordan Peele got his start.

Probably the best sketch comedy show of that time, but I forget a lot of it, I'm sure it would be fun to youtube some madtv
