The first one is easily Kevin Smith's best movie

indeed it is but those early three are all good in their own cute little ways

by that i refer to clerks, mallrats, jay and silent bob

also dogma was good

yah, clerks is the one that really captured something though, it is in the american suburbia canon

i really do like the first clerks, lots of quotable moments

I watched it. He rewrote the whole movie after his heart attack. So that weighs pretty heavily over the movie as a whole. I know what I'm getting with a Kevin Smith movie and I feel like this delivered on that.

Would be interested to see the script he had originally written before the heart attack.
