Yes, salt is an electrical conductor. Didn't you guys ever do that experiment with the pickle and the lightbulb in highschool?

I think I was too busy getting high and whatnot back in high school to even remember that.

Dude, I got dusted every day at lunch and I still remember that. Maybe it was because of the wiener jokes that were made that day.

Salt is an electrolyte, not a conductor, meaning it can conduct electricity only when dissolved in a solvent like water, where the ions are able to move freely.

Salts on their own have their atoms in a fixed lattice with no degree of freedom, through which electrons cannot move freely about, hence why a dry salt doesn't conduct electricity.

Distilled water (free of any salts) is actually a poor conductor of electricity, the presence of minerals is what makes it conductive. If you drop a cellphone in sea water while its off, you can clean it out with distilled water and let it dry and it would still work. :bulb:

I could always sprinkle some salts on a clitoris and watch it dance.

In order to get you laid, we should have you perform a scientific experiment on whether or not salt takes the fish scent off a cooter.

Luigi Galvani (September 9, 1737 – December 4, 1798) was an Italian physician and physicist who lived and died in Bologna. In 1771, he discovered that the muscles of dead frogs legs twitched when struck by a spark.[1] This was one of the first forays into the study of bioelectricity, a field that still today studies the electrical patterns and signals of the nervous system. He was cutting the frogs legs as an experiment trying to prove that a frog´s testicles were actually in their legs. He was quickly proved wrong by other biologists at the University of Pavia.

Well, does salt take the fish scent off of fish?

Good fish often doesn't smell fishy. I don't think salt is going to help, either. Maybe milk?
