Probly a combination of his over use of stencils and jelousy

yeah but what i've always admired about graffiti is that it's done on the spot. even if he makes the stencils it really cheapens the whole thing

i think with the amount of detail his pieces have, and the amount of notoriety he has, stenciling is justified. i mean, when you do graffiti in a large metro area like london, you don't have the time to throw something up like that unless you use stencils. i can only imagine how many people would want to be the one that catches him. i did graffiti when i was younger and can attest to how little time you have sometimes, especially when you are doing such big pieces. alot of people do stencils because of that. also it provides uniformity if you are doing stencils that have a message attached. they are fun to cut out too. alot of people also pre-screen the images they want to put up on heavy paper and then just use a mix of flour, water and elmer's glue to wheat paste things to surfaces in a hurry. if you do that in the summertime the sun will do the rest of the work for you and the images won't come off easy.



i think his identity was up for auction on ebay a while ago.



exit through the gift shop was a good film even though banksy kind of flipped it around and made it more about the film creator.
