I have to say I'm pretty surprised. Good to know when shopping for an album. Some of the retailer:artist profit ratios are fucking obscene, even way before you get to the later retailers on the list.
Has anyone bought from cdbaby before? Looks like the artist gets 74-75% of the profit for cd and mp3 sales respectively.

I think that corresponds to the entries: low-end and high-end royalty deal. I think cdbaby has the ratio it has because it only sells independent music. I can't imagine an artist making more money through a 3rd party retailer than directly from the label.
Looks like musicians' make more from selling CD's than from selling albums on itunes, I would have imagined it the other way around as the cost of the case/cd/booklet+distribution isn't factored in. itunes = greedy cunt.
Edit: oh and look what I found: <!-- m -->

It's alittle disturbing how many people think artists actually don't make anything at all from album sales therefore they arn't worth buying.Even if it isn't much it's better than nothing at all.

I always like to buy albums directly from bands when they go on tour.
