still boring and hot here and is supposed to be into september. but the nights stopped being stupid hot so instead of it being 74 and muggy it's 66 and cool

74 and muggy at night is unacceptable

you're telling me. when you get up first thing in the morning to go running because that's the only time you can do it without melting and it's 74 fucking degrees, you tend to have a lot of grumpy afternoons

if it's the slot-loading one without buttons, that's the WMS. it sounds great and all, i agree there. but the CD loading mechanism used in that particular model is pretty horrid and likes to break all the goddamned time

meh, growing up in south florida you kind of get used to them. unless you get a direct hit cat 4 or higher you don't really have to worry
that much.

quite incorrect!
it was cat 5 at its peak. it was at most a borderline 3/4 when it hit nola but most folks agree that it was actually a 3

The issue with Katrina was that it broke the levy system there. So New Orleans got seriously fucked because of it. Now the coast of Mississippi got obliterated because of the direct contact as a low cat 4. From what I'm seeing here, Irene is only a cat 1, like below 85 mph now. As long as people stay inside away from windows, they should be fine. Coming from central Florida, I was born and raised on being prepared for shit like this, because you just don't know what will happen. Thankfully enough, Tampa Bay hasn't had a direct impact of a hurricane in 80+ years. But as I say, you just don't know if a hurricane is gonna come in or not living here in central Florida.
As for the heat, you all need to quit your bitching, it's been hitting the 90's with high humidity since early March for me if not the end of February, and probably gonna stay that way all the way to October. So you're talking to the wrong fucking cowboy here. Now if it's winter time and it gets below 20 degrees and actually snows (which has been ridiculously close in the past 2 years), it would be another story.

I think irene is still a cat 3, but by the time it makes its way up to atlantic city (where I am lmao, have not evacuated) it's supposed to be between cat 1 and 2. I'm gonna laugh at all these masturbated crackers in NJ who left when christy ordered evac. And lol at the news, they literally told us on our local news that if we chose to stay "put your social security card and ID/license in your socks for identification purposes." Get the fuck out of here.

I think NYC should just get completely shat on and have to spend the next 3 months walking to work while they're pumping water out of the subway tunnels.

I could get behind this. The news is completely hysterical and acting like all of NYC is gonna drown anyway, so.
