Hollywood is OBSESSED with goodguys being unmasked for as much time as possible. The new spiderman takes this to an absurd new low. They even muffle Andrew Garfields voice when he wears it.

I seem to recall reading something a while back where the studio pushed for Dredd to take his mask off in order to promote Stallone being in it. Otherwise, why bother casting him?

On second thought, seeing as how I thought the first one was meh, I'll give this one a 50/50 chance.

They need to bring in the ABC robot from the first one though. That thing alone saved that film from being a complete disaster.

LOL stallone's one looks like demolition man with the occasional helmet. This one is proper comic book style in the vein of sin city or 300



Also, the premise is similar to The Raid.

It goes to show how the Hollywood star system (especially the 80s/gloryhole era muscle hero) pisses all over potentially awesome films.



Fact is, Stallone with his image rights would have to be centre stage AS stallone not as Dredd hence shitty film.

seriously, i've never seen gore done like this. there's a certain plot device that lets them do gore in a really unique way; i'm not going to spoil it, but god damn... i feel like seeing it again now.



edit: i talked to my fellating lover just now, and we agreed it was like seeing the Matrix for the first time, but with blood and body parts. i also love how tastefully it was done. it sounds funny, yeah, but they could have really overdone this effect and managed not to.
