I'm guessing that was the point, Ted talks are mostly bullshit. Quality control is non-existent.

I liked Paul Stamet's TEDTalk "Six ways mushrooms can save the world"

even if the world needed saving, mushrooms would not be up to the task



ted talks are overloaded with nonsense, and mostly exist for viewers and presenters to pat themselves on the back for being so smart and informed (which hyde wasted no time in pointing out). in terms of intellectual/academic rigor it's typically nonexistent, as lavabug mentions. makes the whole notion of a conference about important ideas seem pretty stupid when none of the ideas or the people conveying them are actually vetted.



but none of that is really relevant here, as all of this bitching about ted is just regurgitating the points made through hyde's performance, just in a less entertaining way. i quite enjoyed this, thanks for linking it mr. hugo

I don't usually orgasm over TED talks but I stand by my original statement that Paul Stamet's talk was neat
