the artwork that accompanies the band logos has nothing to do with the bands themes/lyrics. I don´t think most bands are about torture and so on. Hipsters just seem to love bm as an cultural idea at the moment.

I understand his point. But, I'm looking at this more as an artist, saying "Damn, the medium and material this dude used to create his art is brilliant."

Haffy is obviously more grim and kvlt than I. :grim:

duder did a really nice job on these and using desks was both a great way to recycle the material and a nice play on something we've all done.

I am not trying to be kvlt, I am just not a fan of these post-post-modernistic treatments of blackmetal, where you take the band out of context. The band are artists as well with their own philosophy mind you, and I feel taking it out of context in this warholian fashion by the fine arts oft is like saying they don´t have the same artistic aspirations. That they are aesthetically "cool" at the moment but ultimately low-culture. I think my thoughts on art should be as valid as the next one here , hmm?

No, I definitely get what you mean and you're spot on with the Warhol comparison. I just think these desks are neat.
