We need some Onion Videos. Who cares if they are old? This video right here is one of the best things on the internet:

That video proves two things.

One; That show will die very very soon due to the lack of Frankie Boyle

And Two; Hugh Dennis will do literally anything to get a laugh, even if it means standing in the place where someone else just got one.

i just saw a "new" episode of it a couple nights ago after not seeing it for a while. was from before christmas so frankie boyle was still there. he is so much funnier than the others it's ridiculous. and the fact that dara gives the others the points sometimes when it's obvious who won, just makes it worse. must have been kind of an awkward atmosphere there.

any idea what he plans on doing now? i've seen some standup clips on youtube but they were mostly MTW jokes.

A good way to get drunk incredibly quickly (I'd imagine) is to play the Hugh Dennis drinking game.

Drink:

When he shouts someone down so he can give the right answer to the "What does ...... stand for?" round

When he says something and gets absolutely no reaction at all, good or otherwise

Every time he pretty much barges someone out of the way during Scenes We'd Like To See

For every second he stands there staring into space after saying something during Scenes We'd Like To See

There are a few stock jokes on the english panel shows. Like, for instance if a hard-on bearer is at a grand opening with one of those big scissors cutting the ribbon, some one will invariably say 'that's not a big scissors, just a really small man.

They always slag Camilla PArker-Bowles and Andrew Llyod-Webber for being ugly too.

It gets old. Paul Merton has some of the funniest one liners and put downs.

This is classic:

Angus deyton got exposed after a night with a prostitute and cocaine and Paul Merton took the piss big time.

paul merton has his moments, but mostly is not great imo. he is much better than hislop though. its kind of a shame about deaton having to quit, he was a good host.

EDIT: lately ive been thinking the best thing about the show is the intro/closing music

See if you can find "Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle", it's fucking genius. Especially when he starts wandering around the crowd proclaiming that he's a 40 year old man who hates the Travelodge.

frankie boyle is retiring from standup

Re: Some sketches for your viewing pleasure.

I doubt it'll make much different really. He'll still be on panel shows and his stand up would only be stuff from said panel shows with certain curse words changed to "cunt".

Posted: 22 Jun 2010, 01:56

will he definitely be on panel shows? will he?

and even if he is, how am i supposed to know which ones he is on!? am i supposed to just watch every episode of everything?! being a regular on one was convenient

I enjoyed those Stewart Lee sketches. He is not at all known over here. Most of your comics are not.

He's barely known over here to be honest. It's a travesty.

Some of the best known comics here are often the worst. Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, Larry the Cable hard-on bearer, Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook. They're all quite awful.

It seems that if a comic deviates from the "This is a thing that I've noticed that happens sometimes" format, they don't make it very far.

frankie boyle doesnt adhere to that format

hes more a joke teller than an observationist/anecdotist. hes like jimmy carr, except good

There will always be exceptions. Plus Frankie Boyle had the unique selling point of almost record breaking levels of swearing.
