Another Noob

Hey all, I've been lurking here for a few months and with Illud coming out this seems like a good time to start participating.
I guess I'll get the obligatory info out of the way before I start posting.
I'm English but live in Atlanta, Ga. I've been listening to MA since 2002 when I found Blessed Are the Sick in a local MediaPlay (oh how I miss you MP). I actually didn't enjoy it too much at first as I feel I didn't have the correct perspective in which to listen to their music. As silly as it sounds I started reading Lovecraft, fell in love with feeling of the "out-there" that he wrote so precisely about and that's when MA dug their talons into my brain ha. My experimentation with hallucinogens probably helped as well and later, meditation. Whether good or bad I do believe those two things had a massive affect on my ability to perceive their music on a level that most bands don't require of their listener.
Anyway, my favorite MA album is Blessed and I think I'm one of the few people here who loves Heretic. Beneath the Hollow and Curse the Flesh are both good enough to make Heretic a "good" album IMO. Trey truly called upon the Old Ones for those writhing, pulsing riffs. Favorite album in general is a tie between Gorgut's Obscura and Ved Beuns Ende's Written in Waters. My favorite films are Thriller: A Cruel Picture, Videodrome, The Holy Mountain and Eraserhead. I love old Horror and Exploitation films.
I rock climb (bouldering specifically), play guitar, make crappy little films, play fighting games competitively and random other things.
Can't wait to converse with you all!
