Will you still go to see them LIVE on the ILLUD Tour ?

For those of you NOT enjoying this album, how does that change your stance on the band for live performances ?

1 - will you still go to see them cause you love the old material and just ignore the new stuff ?

2 - are you so pissed and betrayed that you refuse to support them until they produce a proper album ?

3 - will you still buy a Tour shirt that features the Illud album artwork ?

i dunno, i'm on the fence. i guess it'll depend on what the setlists look like; i've already seen the greatest hits DV tours a couple times at least, if it's just the same old with some I tunes substituting a few A/B/C/D tracks, i may just skip it.

it absolutely kills me to say that :(

I've actually been thinking about this. I'm still on the fence. On one hand I get to hear songs from BATS live which would be an almost spiritual experience for me. On the other hand... no songs from F-H, Illud tracks, no Pete and David Vincent looking like Nikki Sixx.

I think I just talked myself out of it lol.

EDIT: Oh yeah, if I did want to see them I wouldn't even be able to because MA forget Georgia exists as so many bands do despite having a thriving Metal scene here. Fuck you MA tour management.

I like the artwork so if there is a nice shirt why not.

I'd like to see them but I highly doubt they'll come anywhere near me. :eyes:

Just as long as they don't play too much stuff from Illud I think it would be worth it.

wow, i'm kinda surprised at that. is that a recent development? when i lived in south carolina, atlanta was routinely the only place within 'reasonable' driving distance that tours would stop. occasionally, you'd have a date in charlotte or asheville, but those were few and far between.

there was precisely one good metal tour that actually stopped in SC proper the whole time, that was mayhem's final tour with attilla. miraculously, they actually stopped off in the city where i lived, which was an odd choice considering greenville's a much bigger market and it was right next door. but hell, i didn't complain :redneck:

but it seems like the southeast in general tends to get dicked over quite frequently, with regards to metal tours.

sweet merciful crap son you are deprived. over the years, MA have been consistently one of the most incredible live experiences on the planet. there's a good reason i've seen them a dozen times over the last decade! well, ok, getting guest list on at least like half of those probably helped, but i would've paid up even if that option weren't available :redneck:

just hope that once pete recovers, they respond to the inevitable illud backlash by reforming the F-H lineup and do something fun with that

Though I would bet Tucker would not want anything to do with them at this point, but who knows. Either way, as I stated in another thread, the next 6 months after release I think will be the gauge for how the future unfolds.

IF this record has a very successful run, then this may not be the last we hearr of this nu-style-old-style material. If it flops, which at this point would be about the best thing could happen IF there is too be a major transition away from this nu-style-old-style material, then who really knows.

Another thing I am curious about is how many album deals have they made with SoM? And the original question will not apply to me. Whether good or bad, having listened to this thing as much as I have, spent time trying to write those lyrics, etc I must admit that I am enjoying it and do look forward to the release. It has also been 18 years since I last saw them and that alone is enough to get me to as many shows as I can get to this go around. I don't give a fuck how far I have to drive.

I just must also agree with many of the reviewers and members in saying: IDI should have been done as a side project, as it diverts too far from the core, but, meh ...Damn, I almost hi-jacked another one :sicken:

I've seen them almost every time they came to Holland from 1998 to the last club show they did here.

They're playing at festival in Katowice, few hours away from where I live. I would have to take 2 days off at work, so I probably will not go. Also I don't care about other bands at this festival. If they played in club in Warsaw I would go.

I want to hear new album live, I really don't care about listening to A-D songs live again.

I don't wear band shirts anymore and I'm not impressed with new artwork, so I will not buy shirt.

I've seen them once. I'm on the fence as well, in this period. If I did go, I wouldn't mind one of those Nevermore shirts. That's decent art.

I'm seeing them tonight, although I had tickets a long time before I heard samples. I do know a few people that were just going to turn up, and now have decided against it. Personally I would be going regardless of how bad the album might be. And anyway, i doubt their setlist will change very much except maybe the addition of 1 more Illud song.

And a big FUCK NO to a tour shirt with the Illud cover :oldryan:

This will be my 3rd time seeing them (missed the 1991 tour), so fingers crossed for a good show. I'll post tomorrow with my thoughts, keep in mind I have been a fan for 20 years now so my opinion will be a little biased.

I've been going to their concerts since 1990 but the last few shows they really seem to do the auto pilot thing. Also the greatest hits setlist can use a few changes. I'm more pissed off about the lack of F-G songs they play live than the fact that the new album might be too mundane and not dark enough for me

Live wise, I used to love them, fuck I used to see them twice on one tour. But now it's a bit of been there done that; had my cd's signed by the band, got the pics with the bandmembers and got the t-shirts.

So I hate to say this but I'll pass

I will go if my money allows. It should be said tho that the 2nd time I saw them (have seen them 2 times total) was significantly lower in quality, comparing to the 1st time (that one was back in 2006, when they did the comeback tour, so maybe that's it).

Hope that Trey will get off the hookers and synthetic drugs and actually start practicing again.

I don't live the United states of America.

I live in Sweden. They are coming to SwedenRock this year, but the tickets are really expensive. And I'll finish school in two weeks and I have no job.

OH FUCK! I remember the last time tripping around that many people was at The Dead show in Atlanta many many moons ago. Fun time, but I honestly had never gotten up the balls to drop before going to a metal show, much less to go to a damn metal festival :)

But then again, they never had metal festivals around me :tear: :reachesforsugarcube:

No one should do it before they are ready. Your life isn't over, but the primary objective changes entirely. The pay offs are beyond worth it, though. Seeing my son born made me feel both more mortal and more immortal than ever before.
