Another Illud review....

Track 1 = pointless intro 1/10
Too Extreme = too shit. First minute is promising, the rest is the worst MA have ever done. 0.5/10
Existo Vulgore = Proper MA, catchy, great solo but only as good as say To the Victor from Gateways. Not all time classic Angel. 7/10 (Solo 8/10)
Blades for Baal = Don’t like the vocals, a few clichés in the rhythms, pretty uneventful track all in all. Nothing happens, where are the good bits? 2.5/10 (Solo 5/10)
I Am Morbid = Surprisingly catchy and cool. A tad cheesy but nothing more than 1 mark knocked off for that. I have to admit I really like this track 8/10 (Solo 8/10)
10 More Dead = My favourite track on the album. This is proper MA and the solo is proper Trey especially the way it kicks off. 9/10 (Solo 9/10)
Destructos Vs. the Earth/Attack = What the shit? Shades of Ziltoid! Nice opening riff, bizarre track, lots of Trey riffage. If this new direction was all like this, it could have been a classic album. No solo though. 8.5/10
Nevermore = Great hearing the studio version after all those varying quality live versions. Good song, typical MA, good solo, just pretty solid all round. I did laugh at the Peteisms from the drummer. 7.5/10 (Solo 8/10)
Beauty Meets Beast = Don’t like the vocals at all, the song is nothing special but the solos are awesome. 5/10 (Solos 9.5/10)
Radikunt = Dear me, what happened? This is horrible. Revise what I said about Too Extreme. Ruined by a good solo and therefore I will have to listen to it again. 0/10 (Solo 9/10)
Profundis = Shitter than shit. 0/10
I have a Morbid Angel tattoo, I think it's time to get it lasered if this is what Vincent's return does to the band. When was Heretic? 2003? Is 3 or 4 tracks in 8 years the best you can do Trey? What a waste of genius.
As for the arrogance of dismissing the fans reaction, not good. Bury your head in the sand boys, you can't tell me that I'm missing something with Too Extreme and Radikunt and that it's groundbreaking and the future. The fact is it sounds like Ministry from 20 years ago and it's shit. Absolutely diabolically shit. To think Morbid Angel would put their name to such dross is of serious concern.

I guess half of you have changed your names since I was last on
So which tracks did Trey write? It's obvious he wrote Existo and Nevermore and I'd say 10 More Dead is one of his too. Is that right?
When Dave V was away with the Genitorturers I forgot about him then one day youtubed Genitorturers from the time he was fronting and I kinda missed him. But now I think fuck that. Bring back Steve Tucker and Eric Rutan and let's hope Pete makes a recovery and can get back to some form. Then let's tell Evil D to get fucked and write another album for release in 2012 and pretend the I never happened.
We can but dream. I can't believe someone as talented as Trey, and he is a genius, can produce nothing for 8 years and then be satisfied with this album. This is the man who played all the guitars on Covenant and Formulas for fucks sake.
Not good enough Trey

welcome back sonny roland rollacks cunt :tear:
my only serious exception to your review is:
The fact is it sounds like Ministry from 20 years ago and it's shit.
mainly because psalm 69 is actually an enjoyable listen, it's just good old fashioned simple fun. whereas illud makes me want to drink myself into a coma.

Yeah 20 yr old Ministry is good. This is more like some garage band from 20 years ago inspired by Ministry.

Yea exactly...
My ears and my gut told me it wasn't a Trey composition in that thread that was posted with Yeung doing that drum clinic and I was confident about it. A lot of people on Youtube were very adament about it being Morbid Angel and in personal messages I would get asking if I like the "new Morbid Angel song" I'd respond with "it may be in fact a new song off the up and coming record but that ain't no Trey composition."
But I agree - regarding the
entire record: "Not good enough Trey"

Hey Nick how's it going?
And Ryan and Lummy
My apologies to Thor, and in that case he should remain in the band with the return of Steve Tucker to replace Dave V and Pete's recovery for the next album. Come on lads, let's get a shift on and make it happen.
My analogy to Ministry - I never liked them but flatmates at uni did so I got quite familiar with them and it seems this is what Dave V thinks is modern sounding when it's 20 years old now. And OK I guess even if I was never a fan of Ministry, they weren't as bad as Radikunt.

I think WTSL was right...

This album will grow on us. I don't hate it anymore, and just like Ninny said I find myself skipping forward to "I Am Morbid"

It's growing on me anyways, I think. I've gotten so used to not liking it I almost feel as if I WANT to dislike it.

Also is it just me or does anyone else prefer the Destructos remix to the original? Fuck I'm really enjoying it.

radikult is way better than destructos and culpa!
the riff at the end followed by the solo are very good.
mea culpa is very irritating i cant even listen to the full song
