What Response did "I" get from the Dance Crowd?

I say "Dance Crowd" for lack of a better word, because I don't know what to call them. I think you guys know what I mean though: the band explained each experimental track as an approximation of a sub-genre of club music, and I'm wondering if the circles that are into that ever made any waves with opinions.

I wouldn't know where to begin looking.

all the money in 'dance' music right now is in dubstep, i'd say it's a pretty safe assumption that crowd has largely ignored this album

I think the dance floor was split in half and when the beat started they did the wall of death!

I don't think the "dance crowd" ever even heard or cared about this album's existence.

Is there a more stale and boring section of the metal world?

Also from this point of view, IDI is a failure.

The 'dance crowd' is, for the most part, elitist.

They hear a guitar - they disregard entirely.

I think it's safe to assume that Trey won't be setting the clubs alight this summer.

Dubstep?

Thirteen year old girls throwing shapes to a forty-odd year old bloke in a plastic t-shirt yelling 'bangin' bangin' hardcore radical?

I think not.

Actually, most people around 15-25 listen to dubstep here... Personally, I think it sucks.

What is dub step, exactly? And that's basically why I made this post: if a techno group tried to make death metal I could easily analyze it, but in this case I'm out of my element.

I like some stuff that I've heard is described as dubstep although I'm not 100% sure as to a definition for the genre. Most of the "dubstep" stuff I've listened is sort of stripped down dance music with a very heavy beat and bassline. Many songs revolve around a bass drop which, if i understand it correctly, is the point where the heavy beat and bass kicks in.

yeah it's just standard dance music that occasionally goes into a breakdown and it's all WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUB

people go nuts for it, i personally do not get it at all.

Dubstep isnt that bad when you are super fucked up. I went to the Detroit electronic music festival with abunch of people and we all just got hammered and rolled balls and it was a decent time. However its not fun music to just chill and listen too.

Sounds like it's just slow techno, then...meh. A high-energy music form without the energy seems remarkably pointless. Just another set of emperor's new clothes for the trend-followers to...er...follow.
