i still love A through H but now i couldn't care less about the band. the interviews, the set lists, the newest album, the newest members, not a shred of any of that is the least bit interesting to me.

In understand what you mean to a extend. When D.avid returned for the first round of reunion tours i was pretty exited. Though after 5 or 6 years of the same songs live i lost interest too. IDI is something i cannot get into, and some of the stuff they do (live) is even downright embarrassing. I actually cringed a couple of times when i saw them live the last time. The band has evolved in a direction i do not relate to anymore. They have seven albums in their catalogue which i love. I'll listen to those. I will follow their coming endeavours but with a difference as opposed to the last 23 years.

If morbid angel had Tucker and Rutan, then I would acually want to see them in tour





Now, it is not a big deal for me

I like IDI, but MA is not the same band, so I don't care anymore.

thing is, I was in WACKEN this year and I didn't watch them. PERIOD! stayed backstage and hung out with some old friends instead. man, I used to love this band!!!! now I couldn't care less about this band anymore...it's not that they tried out some "new" elements, it's not that pete isn't around anymore, it's not the salesman-attitude that disco d. comes across with in interviews, it's not that the band is a lame-ass piece of shit live-band these days....I don't know

there is a whole giant boat load of really great music in the world & all of that deserves one's attention in the ear-place. this thing MA is doing isn't great music, but neither is it something strikingly new or original or otherwise curious. it's just bad, been-there stuff. and i wouldn't argue that music has to be totally fresh and cutting edge &c. to be worth listening to. nor would i argue that bands who've been around for a generation or more need to develop a totally fresh sound to stay relevant. but in addition to the bad music there is a WHOLE LOT of salesmanship going on, in the form of every new interview containing at least a couple variations on "well, we went to a totally new place with this album, and if it's too extreme! for some people, those people should realize that we've been doing this since blessed are the sick." not really? no, not really actually. i can't applaud your efforts, disco taint, because the sounds you're making are unsavory. morbid angel has been turned into a company band instead of a band driven by creativity and positive energy.

IDI is not the worst album of all times, it's mediocre - it has some great moments - i can listen to it and enjoy it but why pretending it's so border crossing and awesome? This is embarrassing. Its like the band did not understand how huge cult (radicvlt ) and important they were before releasing 8. MA was a fuckin religion and now? I don't know...



I'm seeing MA live this week and I hope this new material will defend itself.

yeah, since the set lists haven't really changed all that much i'm not even sure if I would go see them live if they came near here. at this point i'd rather see Hate Eternal and Nader Sadek (if they ever tour)

Little info: Almighty Tucker said that he is not going to work with Nader Sadek again as he felt the hard-on bearer stole their job by letting the people believe that it was him (Nader) who wrote the songs and stuff. He plans to tour with Rune and Flo and hopes to release another album with them.

I'm waiting for another J album to crush everything.

because nader is artist but cannot play it the guitar, drums etc still the band is his name.
