I truly think no one is as creative imaginative or innovative or plays with as much feeling as trey and I think he will probably always be within my 3 favourite guitarist of all time. Hes also had such a enourmous spiritual impact on me also. only if he still had his magic..

Trey's my biggest musical/guitar inspiration as well, but I dunno man...Bob Vigna has done some amazingly cool, original, and unorthodox stuff in Immolation. And although not all of their albums are masterpieces...they've always been death metal, never had any phat beats in them. Every Immolation album has a new "wow, that's a new guitar technique" moment but not since Formulas have I really thought Trey did something really new. Just saying Trey is #1 for me musically, but a few others are very close. Especially with the piss he just took on his legacy.

So don't let that one shitty performance (at Scion) ruin him for you forever!

No there won't ever be Anything he could do or someone could do that would change my beliefs of him. He is an absolute genius, Mastermind, and with out a doubt a legend who should never be forgotten. I don't think there's ever been any single person who's had such an enourmous effect on me personally, spiritually and, musically. I can honestly say morbid angel and Trey Azagthoth have changed my life. A-H and even some moments of I are unlike Any other thing on this planet and they really deserve much more appreciation and respect for that, Formulas is so beautiful and Powerful its almost psychedelic in some ways. Trey will always remain the same and continue to expand in my mind. Yes it's sad to see the scion footage but one performance out of over 20 years of flawless performances can't change anyone's thoughts that much.

Careful, dude. That's starting to sound a lot like worship and zealotry. Which is exactly the opposite of what M.orbid A.ngel stands (stood?) for. Everything should be open to re-evaluation, always. Otherwise you're making "Trey is god" into just another of the paradigms that Trey always spoke against. If you're truly saying "nothing could convince me otherwise" that's a hugely limiting belief. That's how you get a population of sheep, suicide bombers, etc. Like, I don't believe in god. But given sufficient evidence, you could convince me otherwise. If I said "I don't believe in god and nothing you say can convince me otherwise," I would be just another fundamentalist. Don't fall into that trap.



Side note--their knowledge of the fact that they're idolized by many is what leads a former visionary and paradigm scrambler and a posturing cock to think that they can put out any rehashed piece of shit they want and think it's a groundbreaking masterpiece.

For me, nothing can take place of what trey wrote till G.

He is my biggest inspiration as a music composer, guitarist, as a human and as a great Believer.



His music shaped my identity. Gave me an idea, to form my own beliefs.

How powerful music he wrote, beautiful as nature. . I am living a better life now.

May be the music he is writing no is not that great as before, but he is not doing it for money, there are some of his beliefs behind it and I understand and respect them.

Trey is not a god, he is a true inspiration.

You call someone/something god, you blindly follow him/it. A True inspiration is an "Idea" which form the base of your belief. There is a difference between "following" and "getting inspired".

I was getting a little to carried away and made him sound like a god to me.

As far as him being a god-like figure? I don't believe on "1" god nor do I worship Trey. I believe in all of my body, My soul, who I am on this earth and becoming 0 and really "flowing" and achieving higher states of spirituality through meditation or entheogenic use. Basically like taking paradigm shifting and mashing it together with words by deepak chopra, some traits of Buddhism/Hinduism and things such as the kabalah as tools to help me shape my ways. As well as most of what Trey has said but more moulded around myself. Because Trey has really influenced me so much and really gave me a awakening I wanted to pay my respect to him. Before morbid angel I was somewhat a catholic/ athiest. read the bible just a little and wasn't real intrigued by it and wasnt getting anything back, then one truly beautiful figure helped me change it all is something I find truly inspirational and beautiful. It's not a worship to him, but there isn't a day that goes by where I'm not thankful for what he has done or A-H. Thank You Trey Azagthoth!

Next time anyone listens to Covenant of Death turn the right speaker off at around 2:54 ish and there's a pretty heavy riff that you normally don't hear. Just something a little random I found that was cool

Nope, it is on the left side. But i think the layering is audible with out muting the speaker. What are you listening this stuff on? PC speakers?

I'm listening with pc speakers and it's audible to me... but then again I already knew it was there from years of listening on higher quality setups.

You seemed so bummed out by that Scion footage--as if you were dismissing him altogether now!

it definetly made me sad and angry to see a hero of mine preforming like that but we all know what hes capable of, he just isnt taking advantage of his skills

I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised that the drug using has gotten the best of him, at least at Scion. We'll just have too see if he recovers.

I never heard it atleast that much because when I always used to play that song I payed attention to the other riff a lot because that's what sticks out more to me atleast

It's covered up by the other riff a lot. Could be my speakers, headphones or whatever but for as many times as I've listened to that I never really noticed it
