Would you bid?



I'd be selling every piece of whatever I had and getting loans just to place a bid.

hopefully this doesn't happen 'til i have loads of dispensable income

If only I actually was a fan of tremolo-equipped guitars, I'd probably consider it. I think I read somewhere that it actually was a fixed bridge guitar back then but I'm not sure... *shines the Uni signal*

Not exactly...



It was originally a BC Rich international series Ironbird. Very cheap import models. With very bad trems. The first thing he modded was the Floyd. Back then it still was a single humbucker guitar. Later on he installed the neck pup. He also changed the neck quite a few times. By now the only original part is the body. With all the extra routings and the addition of the small plastic plate over the original electronic holes it has changed significantly...

Origially it looked like the second guitar in the right row:

I think the body on BCR International series guitars was not solid wood, but plywood...

they are solid though i highly doubt they are mahogany. Probably alder or something.

I have seen some and on the damaged edges it was clearly wood not ply.

I would not really care. I don´t see the whats so SPECIAL about it. It won´t make you play better. Ofcourse it would be a awesome item for a Morbnid Angel Collector.

Aye. The history of an instrument can add a great deal to its appeal.

creator history by your self instead.

That does not preclude the enjoyment of an instrument with history prior to one's own with the piece, nor the other way around. One can have both.

I played around on that thing a couple of times. Its so nicked up and scratched if you look up close, it ain't even funny. Actually, the neck is not very comfortable, reminded me of just a typical Platinum series bolt-on overall. He's got a good action setup on it though, obviously. Pops strings on it like hell. I got a couple 'birds myself and I'm actually surprised at why he wants to play that thing as much as he does.

Probably it is just comfertable to him. And inspiring (sp?) And out of al the different revisions shapewise it is one of the nicer ones imo. Personally i like the look better than the newer one he has.

I've often wondered if the constant changing of necks was because he kept breaking them or if he still searches for one which he likes better... I guess the little black plate is there to cover up all the holes which are there from all the mods with switches.

I have some mag clippings (think out of a Kerrang) from 91 where there is a closeup of the original headstock and it was severely chipped already. And touring is hard on gear.. So i am not surprised it is beat up.

There was a period he didn't use it that much though. After FFF he brought it back out on tour again. It is as iconic to him as the Frankenstrat to Eddie. Seeing Trey with that blue warrior just doesn't look right hahaha.



But as long as the hard-on bearer keeps making his music he could play a pink banjo as far as i am concerned.



At the moment i have two birds. I had a neckthru US series too but i sold it. The thicknes of the nech was fine but the fretboard was way to small for me. The strings were closer together than on my my sevenstrings.Still it is my favorite guitar shape.

its impossible for me to get this even its up for auction.

i rather go to custom shop and make exacly like this. same material, same specs.

Yes, he bought that yellow Thunderbird Mike used. But Trey sold it a few years ago on eBay.

Thunderbird? w00t? It was a japanes custom Jackson Warrior, "professional"-series.
