Yeah, it's awesome they threw a song from Heretic in there - although I wish it was Beneath the Hollow. Heretic is actually my favorite Morbid Angel album D:

Interesting that there is no Chapel or Maze featured in the set list. I wonder how long it has been since they've done that for a club tour.

i gave it a b on 2.0 and think that sounds about right today :santa:

however, i haven't listened to it front to back in many moons. i may change that today :greenie:

I recommend it! The Tucker era is by far my absolute favorite era of Morbid Angel and while I love Formulas and Gateways with my whole heart I feel as if Heretic is where Morbid Angel reached their creative peak only to plummet back down to sobriety (ha-ha) with Illud.

you also prefer audioslave to soundgarden  maybe 2003 is to you as the gloryhole era are to everyone else on this board :santa:

Well you may be right because I'm probably one of the youngest people on the board, at the ripe age of 21. I also got into metal through the In Flames - Cloud Connected video. The first Morbid Angel album I ever heard like six years ago was Altars, though.

Goodness gracious me, ageless and cursed. They finally succumbed to the tucker albums. Though from heretic they should have picked something a bit more memorable like enshrined by grace or praise the strength.

That setlist is not too shabby, but the lineup leaves something to be desired. I live south of the border, but I'm going back to Cali in December and considered moving my trip up a week just to attend this but....idk. Had "Enshrined" been on he list, I might have had an easier time doing that.

I'll never understand why Trey doesn't play the solo in Rapture the way it sounds on the record. It's soooo much better that way.

he also plays a different solo for part of chapel of ghouls

He probably changed or added to a lot of them over the years. I just think the studio version of that solo sounds much better than the live version he's been playing since Entangled, or thereabouts.

I didn't find it too shabby at all. I thought davids vocals were ok and gave a gateways song a different feel :ba:

So refreshing to have heard ageless and curse last night. Really enjoyed the show! All of Covenant, the rest old school as well except for one new, Existo which is one of the semi-decent tracks off of that "I" record.

awesome to hear ageless performed again but david's voice is way to thin. monster vocals are required for this song.

nonetheless, still happy to hear it live.

actually vincent's voice was good, I wouldn't judge it based on a crappy cell vid. But I tell you I just can't get on board with the other hard-on bearer's

leads man. They do nothing for me.

It doesn't sound right for the song and his pacing is too... him.
