I wasted few precious seconds of my life to open this bulletin and now few more to write this post. I want real news, not this promotion of "art".

i'm actually even angrier at zim for making a topic about this, and then not posting the contents for everyone to rage at. not everyone uses myspace, copy/paste it so there's at least something for the rest of us to get angry at, or don't even bother. FUCK

No, I don't think that is silly at all. It is simply the expressing of opinions on the current style of art, and more focally, the jackass artist for both is style, which is widely disliked on the bard, and his co-opting of the band's web presence to blatantly and excessively promote his own endeavors.

I think the art itself should be enough promotion, it doesn't need a logo slapped over it. If anyone is truly interested they'll find the artist.

Not true. I just think it looks lame. Just as in the past some t-shirt designs (not Vadims) looked stupid. Like the candle with a face shirt from the Covenant tour.

The point of the matter is that Vadim dude acting as if he IS in the band. Making the art officially MA. While he is just showcasing his stuff to get customers.



And explain to me why I could not criticize the look of the site? I either like it or I don't. The FFtF site smokes the new one.

haha, for real. even worse, during an interview he makes it sound like he turned MA down for the touring position, like it would be shameful to even accept the position:

I think i like it mostlyt not for the art itself, but his color choices..very eye s grabbing bery edeep colors...I really enjoy his use of coloor, it appeals to me persoanlly.

i think the coloring is part of what makes it so bad. along with huge-ass bold lines everywhere, there's always like, a really homogeneous color palette which just beats you over the head with super-bold tones everywhere. you're supposed to use them to draw people's attention to certain parts of a composition, not just pick the three boldest colors and use only those for the entire thing. no taste, no class.

I don't like it mostly beacuse the symetry of it. Maby I'm wrong, but all of the symetry is made by copying one side to another with mirror reflection. Personaly I like when each line is made by hand, even if it will make the mirror reflection effect worse. Its... how to call this... "easy art"? or easiest way to do it. I really dig Formulas and Gateways covers. I know that to do it will take alot of time and good painting/drawing skill are needed, but you know art is art. Someone can't express you better that yourself. Also something like custom art pushes me away from this... I really wish that Trey or someone from the band will do the cover art for the new album or choose a right thing that express his music. Yea.. I know... Maby this is the right thing, but I really don't think so. This is so far away from the things in the past.

Personal taste I geuss, that's what i like about hi art is the strong coloring....sure it could be better but, i dunno...whatever creams one's twinkie i suppose
