fuck i didn't expect to read that. i remember being really excited the few times he posted here, i was also excited he was trying to get back into music.

it's a shame he had such bad problems in his life post-morbid angel :frown:

RIP Richard Brunelle, time to jam some altars and blessed in his honor :bang:

Pretty shocking news. I'm guessing, since no cause of death was announced, his lifestyle of dangerous heavy metal musicianship played a role. Rest in peace.

his contributions to metal by way of altars and blessed were monumental, honest to god devastating to hear he's passed. we're all getting old, i guess it's to be expected, but it still seems far too early for the musical heroes of that generation to go. fuck, man

RIP richard.

Another one bites the dust :frown: quite a few former MA members are now gone right? Sterling and Jared at least, and now Brunelle

am jamming Altars and Blessed in memoriam. His contributions to Morbid Angel were a big part of what pushed me to refine my style. This is a crushing blow. RIP :tear:

There’s not a whole lot of info available online about Brunelle. Seems to have been struggling for years though. These last snippets of information about his latest band are totally :alien:

he thought angel censoring to downward descending thing was a direct reference to the band being cold shit at the time when in truth it was just standard morbid board nonsense only mostly inspired by what an asshole giggling liquid shit the band was at the time
