Right. some of them aren't even solo's but soundscapes, textures adding depth to the songs. Sonic feelings if you will.

I saw all the MA videos for the first time on "Wet & Wild" on TMF (Dutch music tv channel, like MTV). Years ago they had this program between 11pm and 12am or so, they broadcasted the MA vids. Youtube wasn't around that time, internet was pretty new and this was one of the only ways to get in touch with metal videos, except for Beavis & Butt-head

so you never went to concerts of (other) bands, check out albums in a record store, read rock/metal magazines?

the only metal albums in the record store when i was growing up were metallica ones
