So I was just driving home listening to Perdition Temple's latest album and then Blood On My Hands started playing. I thought nothing of it and that the album had finished and Spotify had just started playing similar music. It took me a little while to realize it wasn't Morbid Angel and was PT's cover it's so very similar to the original feel and sound.

Yeah it's one of Gene's post Angelcorpse bands they have some pretty good old school and raw death metal, surprised they aren't a bigger name in those circles.
There's also Malefic Throne with Gene, Steve Tucker and John Longstreth if you missed that one.
it's so very similar to the original feel and sound.
