Honestly, I don't think DV's vocals have ever sounded this good. I was worried from a couple of the videos of him when he'd just rejoined (ie Wacken), but he's fucking. got. it.

I thing the execution of the song is great. Pete is doing a good job. Still no fan of the arrangement though.

I think the vocal lines of the bridge are awesome... Esp. the second one before going into the ...Nevermore.

But as Void said in the other topic it gets a bit repetitive at the end.

I know David has good arranging skills. Erik said that too on numurous occasions. I'm sure it is gonna be a great collection of songs. With better tracks than Nevermore. But it is never gonna have the impact of one of the first albums. Nowadays it is very difficult to release a groundbreaking album simply because there is so much stuff out there. To me in the last couple of years there has been only one album that completely blew me away. CF's Monotheist...

In the past whenever there was a MA release, they put the record straight.. Showed the competitors how it's done. They didn't manage that with G and H.



Concerning David's vocals I like them. On A and B he doesn't sound as deep as some Deathmetal singers but those vocals sound Great. There is more agression there than in most of the rest. I love the way the Blessed vocals on B are produced with all the subtleties and layering. I hope they take full advantage of his vocal abilities.

I, for one, trust Erik Rutan's instinct as far as MA is concerned, seeing as he's an actual fan of the music. I think the production will be intense and layered, but not overproduced. I think the drums will sound real. In other words, if there's a problem, I don't think it'll be with the recording. Even so, I think Rutan will have some sway of "hey guys, don't you think it sounds better this way?"

Yeah the man has a great set of ears, and i think they have enough respect for him to take his suggestions seriously.

Yeah, I'd say that with this, I do not need a live album from the last 5 years. This recording of this show is fucking good enough. (I still think there should have been one for the Tucker era, though. The Montreal 1998 bootleg is fucking but I haven't heard any bootlegs with F, G, and H that sound good enough, insofar as recording quality goes.)

im listening to the whole concert now ...awesome ..ok thor's leads are really a taste thingy (imo he doesn't fit in the band at all..) and even trey's leads are sometimes bit weak nowadays ..i mean hey he's still number one for me ..but he can do better .. i just say where the slime live + rapture solos. but we had already a thread long time ago with this topic if i remember rigtht .. david is a very energetic person too ok most of the ppl including me are bit disappointed with his new style just remember the shows and fotos back in the days he looked fuckn cool ! when i met him in 2009 i was bit shocked at first but hes a really nice hard-on bearer who feels with the band and just dont likes talking about f-h period but ok.. as a great long-time-fan of ma im looking forward to the new record.. ma will definetly jizz upon your ears again as long as trey keeps his hands on the music i have no doubts ..hopefully pete will recover and rejoin ma soon ..tim is a talented drummer and i think it will work.. it already worked very well for nile, hate eternal and so on....

The song has grown on me since hearing this.There are so many similarities between the main riffs in Nevermore,Within Thy Enemy & Beneath The Hollow though.
