Just a thought - MA waited this long to record I and Pete needed surgery before the recording started? I'm kind of surprised the MA didn't just wait for Pete to recover.

Maybe this means Pete will definitely be touring? It said he's playing 2-3 hours per day.

Awesome! Happy to see him at the drums again. Wonder if it means anything for the recording but I'm sure it means alot for the upcoming tours!

It looks like practise work and nothing more. What with the roddy doubles/quads etc.



Rushing pete is in my books.

I agree he shouldn't be rushed, but you can't blame anyone for the excitement and enthusiasm over it.

He might be able to sit there and jam on his kit, but the rigors of touring are probably too much for him yet. I'd hate to see him go back on the road prematurely and end up doing permanent damage to his back.

Of course touring, playing almost every night, at his age, in a band with the high-quality standard intensity of Morbid Angel, is stupid when recovering from such an operation.



Recording a new Terrorizer without touring while Morbid Angel is on the road seems to me more likely.

After all, he seems to have written more material and I suppose it's not all keyboard-instrumentals but maybe also Terrorizer stuff.



Actually, it's great that Pete is able to practice again at all! I'd say let him re-achieve his old level of playing and then some!

according to his facebook page, he's recording vocals right now, and they sound like godzilla.

Fuck I'd laugh/cry if they used auto-tune.

For a while - it might even still be there - Pete listed "handyman" as his other profession. There's an easy way to fuck up your back right there, since the job perimeters stretch from here to infinity. There's also the chance he messed things up moving equipment. But blasting with work boots on? Not likely. He'd get back spasms way before anything serious happened, and if those ever had come he'd stop the recklessness in a heartbeat.

if he's a handyman in his time off from ma, it's very likely he could have hurt his back lifting something. and further exacerbated it by leaning over while playing drums?

You sir may be on to something



I work with a hard-on bearer who had surgery on two discs in his lower back a couple years ago, and he doesn't have any trouble with heavy lifting on the job these days. So hopefully that bodes well for Pete.

Somehow I can´t see Pete working in construction or something like that.
