3 of my favorite songs they seemingly ignore for years now. Has anyone seen them before these songs live since Dave rejoined the band ? At the recent Scion Rock Fest the setlist was fairly typical.

they just seem to ignore blessed almost completely except for day of suffering and fall from grace? And it is such an important release in their discography... maybe trey isn't really satisfied with that album?



They should do a tour where they play all songs from blessed they have been skipping for years.

When I watch this video, the band look so much more energetic and alive than today. That was MA at their peak IMO.

My only thought is maybe since the songs in question are some of the earliest ones written (prior to even Altars) they are sick of them



I don't know about the rest of you, but anytime I hear God of Emptiness and see all the "tools" go nuts for it, I shake my head in disgust since:



1 - the song is kinda crappy

2 - it was their "music video" song, so of course the mindless sheep are gonna know it

I totally agree with the Blessed are the sick sentiment; it contains perfected classics which make Morbid Angel eternal; come on: Abominations, Unholy blasphemies, The ancient ones, Thy kingdom come?!?!?!?!?!?



I'll forever keep shouting for Damnation though, which imo is also an ignored classic and a brilliant song it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

blessed is the most creative album according to me

They should do "Blessed are the 20 years tour" and then play the whole fucking album.

I'd love to hear them play some songs of Formulas or Gateways. Hopefully Trey will get bored of the "Greatest Hits" set and make David learn some of those songs.

Brainstorm they played live at Waldrock in the early 90's; during that show they also played Angel of Disease which I think is the only time ever they played it live. Which was awesome because only Altars and Blessed were officially out at that time.



Pete told me a while ago that he is getting sick of playing the greatest hits. He really wants to play new songs he said

I'd love to see them play God of the Forsaken with Erik on guitar. His solo towards the end of that song is amazing.

They played that one live with Jared there's a bootleg of it.

I have the said bootleg. The quality is pretty horrible.

i am not much into hate eternal, i just have king of all kings and I monarch. That even i listen rarely

Then it would be wise to investigate a little before making statements.

JJ told me recently the new Hate Eternal album came out great. He said they did a lot of classic twsited Hate Eternal riffing but that there's also more

groove and space surrounding all the blasting, pummeling stuff. That's good to hear, but I am always concerned with the sonic quality of H.E records, for some

reason they always miss the mark sonically. Sit down and compare the timeline from KOAK to I,Mon to FAF and you'll notice a depreciation in sonic quality from each record.

It's bizarre. I hope they nail the audio with this new record.

HE is next to MA my favorite band. But the production of the last one was so difficult to get a grasp on. Although i must say i love the rawness of the band. The demo as wel as KOAK are always a inspiration to me.



Having been working on my own recordings with Void recently, i must admit it is hard to let go. You tend to go back and work on it again and again. I guess that's what happenend with FAF. I must say i like the way Monarch sounds.



I also think a lot of modern deathMetal albums sound to polished or fake nowadays. All the reamping makes for interchangable guitar sounds. Drums are not human anymore with all the digital correction. The ridiculously hard compressed mastering. I do not like it one bit. It loses all the edge Death Metal stood for. All the "dirt" that made it organic is gone.

I really hope what we are creating has that oldschool vibe I think it has. But i've been so close to it lately i'm not objective anymore.

Fuck reading this had me listening to KOAK again... what a great record.

Erik told me that the production of the new one is closer to I, Monarch than F&F - but more clear and open. He had Ride The Lightning's production as one of his main influences for this one... can't wait!



And no sneak peaks of Uni's material until it's released

ride the lightning has INCREDIBLE production. it sounds like deep dark winter, very atmospheric and boomy and helpless



i am way more excited about this new HE than i am the new MA; i'm just going to go ahead and say that right now
