From all I've heard and read about the forthcoming "I"-record, I reckon this is THE album Pete should've been part of...

It just promises to have a lot of Pete's interests and influences in there: the electronic marching rhythms, the Laibach feel (man, that remix version of Destructos IS just Laibach).

Plus the drums are really high in the mix on this one, something Pete wouldn't have regretted. And on top of it all, it could have brought together his favourite recording line-up of Azaghtoth/Vincent/Sandoval.

I bet he must be pissed just For the fact alone that he wasn't able to record the new album.

I don't think it sounds anything like Laibach...

yeah i mean i only heard the amazon sample but even in that little snippet there is nothing laibach about it. either the band itself or the MA remixes.

Wouldn't it suck to be him simply because he can't clearly express himself in English. Even in recent interviews he's barely intelligible, and being shitfaced doesn't seem to have anything to do with it. I'd get lonely very fast.

I have wondered about that in the past. I also wondere how much of what Trey goes on about he would understand given the language barrier.



He's been playing in Morbid Angel for 20+ years though so it can't be that much of a problem for him.

I spoke to Pete a couple of times and he spoke perfectly understandable English. Granted, with a heavy accent.

One must not underestimate Pete's English.

I have a lot of albums from Laibach and am very aware of their techno/industrial songs. And I really like a lot of them. But I do agree that this Combichrist remix does nothing for me in the vein of Laibach so far. Perhaps the full song will reveal itself to be more in the same lane.



On a Laibach note: I think their album Volk is absolutely amazing.

You make a lot of assumptions as to where I make the contrast between this remix and Laibach!

Even at their lightest and most humorous, Laibach is more fulfilling than this remix (which is also in contrast to other Combichrist material, for that matter). This mix is weeeeeeak.
