Fuck yeah, boss. Shawn Lane was an absolutely unreal guitarist; probably the best technically, and he could actually make coherent music that didn't just sound wanky.



I really like the chord progression in this one. Plus, the long lick starting at 1:52 is just mind boggling.

And then there's this. Shawn and Paul Gilbert did a cover of the Beatles' "Let it Be" at NAMM in '93. Gilbert is one off the premier shredders of all time, and he gets his fucking head taken off:

Personally, I've always been stunned at this solo. For someone to shred that hard, with perfect intonation the entire way through, and for it to still be tasteful, it's just scary. Plus there's the one lick towards the end that's just like...how the fuck do you do that???? You'll know the one I mean.
