i had this shit for awhile but never gave it a listen except for the occasional song



for the longest time i thought it was a joke band like brujeria and that their name actually was anal neckwrath (which is a much better name, but still). shit's jammin

i like when they get melodic with the emperor-esque clean vocals - epic

the fruital vocals are way more raw and horrifying than 99% of all the black metal i've ever heard. and they actually have fucking riffs. riffs that use more than three notes! which is such a nice change from that same 99% of bands



basically what i'm trying to say is if more black metal sounded this fucking angry with everything, it would be worth listening to

Passion (the new one) may be their best yet. I recommend you get this as well.

AN didn't survive the initial round of purges when i was cleaning out my music library last month. they're fun for about five or ten minutes at a time for me, but then i just wind up losing interest.

I had the codex necro on CD years ago, i must dig that one out.



The constellation of the black widow my favourite i think. They really are a great band.

Anaal Nathrakh has a special kind of rage that most bands just can't match.

Anaal in Dutch litterly means 'in the ass' and to think it's some kind of demon name..



Codex necro has a too fuzzy sound imo; I prefer Domine; the Emperor parts are great and at some point the singer (from Benediction!) does a great John Tardy voice.

going to spin this band again, another one i had forgotten about.
