Earlier this year I went under the surgeons knife at short notice to have my appendix removed. While this was nowhere near as severe as Zambon's ordeal, I still lost a few hours in black time and it was something I really wouldn't want to go through again. I found the following song by Septic Flesh quite thought provoking about what it would be like to wake up with memory loss.

What is life without memories at all?

If we lose all our memories, wouldn't that be a kind of death?
