i was really looking forward to deconstruction, thinking we would hear this awesome heavy side of devin again. instead its just a bunch of heavy circus music

He did an interview recently saying that he warned people it was not SYL, and that SYL will not happen again.

i think i've read the same one, and most of us are well aware syl is done as he is in a different place in his life now etc... but when he was first talking about what deconstruction was like he has said that it was "some of his heaviest music yet", and "what he was wanting to do with syl" and the likes so that led one to figure that it was going to be some heavy, mean shit and it sounds like nothing i imagined

I really like deconstruction. something different for a change

i could never get excited for his non-SYL projects. from what i can remember i wasn't too hot on their last couple of albums either, but i don't think i gave them much of a chance beyond an initial listen or two when they first released.



i do recall havin' some fun times with like city and SYL though

I do prefer syl to non syl stuff
