I listened more to extreme metal from 16 to 21-22 years old. Now i RARELY listen to that stuff again, except sometimes real GOOD classics as old slayer,old kreator-destruction-sodom, some black/death metal......but rarely.

we've had a pretty similar trajectory



metal was more or less all i listened to from 15ish 'til i was 21 or 22. i still listen to a lot of metal, but my tolerance for mediocrity and derivative bullshit (which is to say, the vast majority of metal music released after 2000) has basically evaporated, so i tend to stick to the classics.

Some 70s stuff like Johnny Winter, Montrose and stuff like that. Been listening alot to QUEEN lately.



Even old classic MA albums gets the meh nowadays

it has been a struggle for me the last 3 or 4 years to listen to anything extreme on a regular basis
