dissection made some very beautiful music that has stuck with me for a very long time. sacramentum, while they made great music, doesn't really capture the same feeling.

the thing about Reinkaos is that if it were any other band, it would be a fantastic album. but the fact that it was the same band that put out The Somberlain and Storm of the Light's Bane really threw a lot of people off I guess. Reinkaos really isn't that bad imo.

no, it really just plain sucks. that it had the dissection name attached to it was just adding insult to injury. it was the IDI of 2006

I really like the album. But it is almost a hardrock album. The songs are solid have good arrangements. They are just very bare without all the typical harmonies going on. Somehow the album sounds like the steps of a ritual to me. I listen to it a lot.
Somberlain and Storm are melodic death Metal...melodic death metal and dissection do not mix well

yeah that part confused me a bit. a lot of people lump them in with BM because their material has that sort of vibe, but when it comes right down to it, it's definitely more melodic DM than anything. same with sacramentum.

Jon said himself he felt the band fitted the term DeatMetal more because "more was allowed` hinting at the narrow minded BM community.
