hoping for side shows (hop huge outdoor festivals suck)

australia is having another "Soundwave" outdoor festival in January.
i hate these things, but this year's line-up is seriously fucking awesome & I hope the acts do some side shows!
I'm hoping for:
(posting for the headline order, not my order of want)
Mastodon (never seen)
Devin Townsend Project
(never seen him do his name-band)
DEP (maybe, i don't like them much now... "Calculating Infinity" line-up/material for me)
Meshuggah
Gojira
Watain (surprised by a decent non-commercial black metal band for a festival, i'd expect poo like C.O.F, not a decent underground BM band)
