THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER To Tour With NILE, SKELETONWITCH, HOUR OF PENANCE - Jan. 17, 2012



Detroit, Michigan's melodic death metal outfit THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER will embark on its first headlining tour of 2012 in March. Support on the trek will come from NILE, SKELETONWITCH and HOUR OF PENANCE. The tour kicks off on March 24 in Grand Rapids, Michigan at The Intersection and wraps on April 20 in Worcester, Massachusetts at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival.

i would maybe consider going to see nile if it weren't bundled into metalfest. i'm pretty sure they're literally the only decent band playing this year though, so meh at that

Why have Nile fallen?



What's wrong with this line up? It's got some killer bands!!

i'm guessing it's because it's rare for them to be an opener, they've been headlining nearly every tour they've been on since BSoV came out (at least in america anyway). the only exceptions that stand out in my mind are the KD tour back in '05 and i'm pretty sure they did an ozzfest somewhere along the line as well. the only other time i can remember seeing them as an opener would've been for neurosis back in '98.



so yeah, having to open for some shitty useless band like BDM is kind of a huge step down for them, i'd think

Hmm..they're not an opener, being in the middle. When they were headlining, I remember they had like one support band, maybe another local band. They never headlined something like big tours like Summer slaughter, No Mercy or Full of hate. So I think them headlining is not a big deal, probably attracts not enough crowd.



These tours with 4 bands are ideal to fill up an evening thoughout the week where people have to work the next day (that's very handy bookingwise) and altough maybe useless, TBDM seems to attract these crowds, making it able for Nile to expand on it's fanbase. I think Nile are still relatively a small band.



And concerning the other bands, Skeletonwitch I consider as quite ok and Hour of Penance are a killer band, just listen to The vile conception.

Who the hell booked that tour? The good thing about BDM headlining is that you can leave before they play.

they've been main support often over the last ten-twelve years though. remember the blackest of the black tour

at any rate i dont see the problem with this. people who might not be familiar with nile will now have to stand there listening to nile and some of those people might go o_0 and that is the reason why bands open for other bands

this'll be the first Nile tour in a while that I won't see



TBDM suck terribly live, I had to sit through them twice, twice too many
