that said that album does not have the doorway. and honestly i cannot overstate how fucking massive and impressive that song is. times is a little more cohesive as a front-to-back piece of music, too, i think

enemy of the sun and souls at zero are very, very much worth giving more attention to as well the only one i haven't really listened to extensively is the most recent one, which never quite grabbed me by the balls as all the others have managed to do in some way or another.



i agree about the doorway and it's always been my personal top track on there. on the other hand, the more somber stuff like the last you'll know is where the album loses me. not to say that that's a bad thing in and of itself, but on the whole the album lacks that sort of apocalyptic vibe that features heavily throughout the preceding three albums, which i definitely prefer.

i think a study of neurosis' complete works needs to happen during the summertime

I have Souls At Zero on it the original pressing vinyl. It was a gift from an old fellating lover.

neurosis are another band that I just could never get into. i've heard a few songs, sure - but nothing ever grabbed me by the balls.
