i tried listening to koloss but i ran into an inescapable fact: meshuggah are fucking terrible and their music shouldn't exist. there is a kind of monotony that seems to feature on everything they've ever done. maybe it's their propensity to stick to that one timbre that they stick to, that makes it all sound so samey. i dunno. maybe i'm just bad at arithmetic or something, but i've tried to enjoy this band a dozen times and no matter how i approach it they're just awful. purely awful.

i dont really see much point in music videos for more extreme stuff, who the fuck plays them on tv. the internet doesnt really need them either.

you know you just described neurosis right to say nothing of tons of other amazing bands. it's called "having a sound" and most songwriters do. also koloss is advanced meshuggah in that they are actively playing with repetition much more than on previous albums (catch-33 excluded)

i would much rather have the band spend the money on a wicked meat bath instead
